The previous three Lacrosse Red River Rivalry games have been absolutely unbelievable thrilling games that went down to the end or needed overtime. The last time these two powerhouse programs battled, it was in the semi finals in Austin, TX. Texas scored with 2.8 seconds left in regulation to send it into overtime. It was an Overtime rocket shot, to the upper ninety by Graduate Assistant Coach- Austen Sanchez, that netted the Win for the Sooners. That overtime thriller (on coaches birthday) propelled the Sooners into the 2018 LSA Championship game vs Texas A&M. It is considered by many OU Lacrosse Alumni, who have had a club team on campus since 1978, as the most important goal in the history of the program.
Sooner Lacrosse Nation invites the entire OU student body to come on out and support your Sooners. Admission is FREE with a valid OU Student ID.
If you have never seen the game of lacrosse, its the fastest game on two feet. It's a combination of football, basketball, soccer and hockey. New rules this season are an 80 sec shot clock and the players are allowed to dive again, to create even more athletic shots. It's an action packed game and we would love to pack the stands and create a home field advantage. Thank you to OU Athletics for allowing us to host this event in such a first class facility like the John Crain Soccer Complex. It's going to be a very special day for our lacrosse program.
For those of you who can not attend in person, the game will be live streamed. We will post the link here: https://gameonsportsproductions.com/mcla-lsa-lacrosse/
